Boxes at the Gielgud Theatre

Now playing: Oliver! From £24 Book tickets

There are seven Boxes, and we would steer you away from all seven. Four are beside the stage, with two or three seats each: A and C at the sides of the Stalls, B and D at the sides of the Dress Circle. The other three, E, F and G, sit together at the back of the Dress Circle, behind row J.

Should you book one?

Not for the view. The four beside the stage are very side-on, and you miss around half the show from them. E, F and G face the stage, but from the very back of the Dress Circle, and the level above cuts off the top of the stage. At Oliver! that's where the raised platforms are.

What you get back is privacy, which is a nice to have, but you'll miss plenty of the action on stage.

Better seats for the money

Book the Dress Circle instead. Rows D to F are where its prices drop, and from there you see the whole stage, straight on. To be close, the middle of the Stalls, rows F to N, beats any Box.

When a Box does make sense

When the occasion matters more than the view. A Box gives you privacy, and E, F and G come with their own entrance behind the Dress Circle and quick access to the bar and toilets. If you want one for the night rather than the show, call us on 020 7193 9050 and we'll talk you through them.

Boxes FAQs

What is Box F like at the Gielgud Theatre?

The largest Box, between E and G, with ten seats: six in front and four on a raised step behind. E and G have four each. The four raised seats are the tightest for legroom.
