Who's Some Woman For?
- Anyone who has watched Anne-Marie Duff in Bad Sisters and wants to see her on stage, a few rows away, in a theatre this size.
- People who like new writing. Edmundson wrote the National's Small Island.
- Regulars at the National looking for the Dorfman's autumn play.
- Not for you if strong, misogynistic language or references to sexual assault and suicide are things you would rather avoid on a night out. The National lists both.
What Tickets Cost
It is nearly sold out with us. We have seats on only a handful of dates, from around £55, so call us on 020 7193 9050 and we will tell you what is left and when. The National's prices can change with demand.
About Some Woman at the Dorfman
It is a world premiere, with previews from 7 October and a seven-week run. It is Edmundson's new play for the National, and it has received an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award.
The Dorfman is the smallest of the National's three theatres. With the audience on three levels close around the stage, you are never far from Duff.
What's Some Woman About?
Julie Robson is used to being overlooked, at work, at home and everywhere in between. Then an encounter on a station platform goes wrong, everyone's attention turns to her, and she decides to take a stand.
The National warns that it contains strong and misogynistic language, and references to violence, sexual assault, suicide, disordered eating and themes of mental illness.
Performance Schedule
Evening performances start at 7:30pm and matinees at 2:30pm. Four evenings start an hour earlier, at 6:30pm:

| Tuesday 3 November | 6:30pm |
| Thursday 12 November | 6:30pm |

FAQs
7 October to 21 November 2026.
Anne-Marie Duff plays Julie Robson, with eight other actors. The National has not yet said who they play.
About 1 hour 50 minutes, straight through with no interval. You are out at about 9:20pm after a 7:30pm start, 8:20pm after a 6:30pm one, and 4:20pm after a 2:30pm matinee.
The National gives no age guidance for this production. Its general rule applies: no under-4s in the auditorium, and under-13s must come with an adult. Check the content warnings above before booking for a teenager.
The National says latecomers may not be admitted, and with no interval there is no break to let you in later, so if you are late you may miss the whole performance. The Dorfman has its own entrance round the side of the building, so allow for it.
The National describes it as a new play and says nothing about it being based on real events.
We have seats on only a handful of dates, from around £55, with all-in pricing. Call 020 7193 9050 and we will tell you what is left.
Nobody can say yet, because the layout for this production is not out. The Pit is closest to the stage and the Gallery is cheapest; ask us when you book and we will tell you what is on sale.
Inside the National Theatre on the South Bank, with its own door on the east side of the building. Waterloo is the nearest station.
Yes: captioned, BSL, audio described and relaxed. The dates are on the Venue and Travel tab.
Where to Sit
The layout for Some Woman has not been announced. The Dorfman has no fixed seating plan: the floor seats rise, drop or disappear from one production to the next, so seat advice from a previous show may not apply.
What stays put is the three levels. The Pit is the floor, closest to the stage. The Circle runs round three sides at foyer level. The Gallery is the top level, with the cheapest seats. What we can't tell you yet is which of them this play favours. That depends on where the stage goes, and it arrives with the plan.
Once the plan for Some Woman is on sale we can tell you exactly what each band buys. Call 020 7193 9050.
