What It Is
A two-hour theatre production tracing ska from its beginnings in Jamaica through the British 2Tone revival of the late 1970s and 80s, played by a nine-piece live band with a full brass section.
It is the only show of its kind endorsed by Lynval Golding of The Specials and Neol Davies of The Selecter.
The company comes from Coventry, which is where 2 Tone Records was founded and where The Specials came from.
What Tickets Cost
£22.50, £27.50, £37.50 and £47.50. All-in pricing, the price you see is what you pay.
Who It Is For
- Anyone who was there the first time, and anyone whose parents were.
- People who want the music played by a proper brass section rather than a laptop.
- Anyone who likes a night out where sitting still is not really the plan.
- Not for you if you want a quiet, seated concert. The audience response to this show is consistently about dancing.

Expect to be on your feet. People who have seen it talk about dancing rather than listening, and one review of a previous date is simply "we danced our docs off".

FAQs
Madness, The Specials, The Beat, Bad Manners, The Selecter and The Bodysnatchers, among others.
No, but it is endorsed by Lynval Golding of The Specials and Neol Davies of The Selecter, which no other show of its kind is.
Almost certainly. Audiences at previous dates describe dancing from start to finish.
Two hours.
Yes, Sunday 18 April 2027.
Where to Sit
The one-night events use the same seating plan as the resident musical.
The Stalls hold 1,305 and are ten steps down from the foyer. The Circle holds 752 and is 32 steps up with no lift.
On this one, think about where you want to be standing rather than sitting. The Stalls are the level with the atmosphere, and the centre of them is where the room moves. If you would rather watch than join in, the Circle gives you the whole picture and a bit of distance from it.
Our Dominion Theatre guide has both levels.

A nine-piece live band with a full brass section, from Coventry.
The production uses digital video displays, period clothing and a full set, and traces the music from Jamaica to the British revival.
About This Event
The show returns after its 2026 tour and plays across the UK through 2027.
Audiences are consistent about one thing: the dancing. "We danced our docs off." "Never stopped dancing." "Best night out for ages."
It also appears at some venues as Too Much Too Young: The Story of 2Tone & Beyond, which is the same show.
All six of the Dominion's one-night events fall on a Sunday, the day the resident musical does not play. Our Dominion Theatre guide lists what else is on.
