Districts 4, 5, 8 and 9 at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre

Book here first. These four blocks sit side on to the action and give the best all-round view in the building and of the show. If you are coming once, this is where we would put you.

The view from your seat varies very little between them: you get the whole stage, with nothing of it behind you. Six seats to a row, so you are never more than three seats from a gangway, and the most expensive seats are front and centre in Districts 4 and 5.

Where to sit

Rows D and E, and take a seat that is not on the aisle. This is the first-visit pick. Far enough back that the rake is working for you, close enough that faces read, and clear of the rails.

Row A is not cramped here. These are the only Districts where that is true.

On a budget: the back of District 5. It is priced near the bottom of the range and it is still one of the main blocks. If you do not fancy the Circle, that is the seat to ask for.

What you give up

The aisle seats. The aisle and stair rails in all four Districts put a very slight obstruction into the view from the seat beside them. It is minor, and the rake means you are not looking through heads as well, but on a first visit take the seat next door.

A glance at the screens. From Districts 4 and 8 you turn your head to see the screens at the ends of the auditorium. It is a turn, not a loss.

The very front, occasionally. Sitting at the front of District 5 puts you close enough that when the action drops to the floor directly in front of you, you lose sight of it for about a minute. Some people would trade that for the proximity. Most would rather sit back a row or two.

Getting in and out

Districts 7, 8, 9 and 10 share one door, and District 7 is the last block out at the end. If you are in 8 or 9 and you have a train to catch, the honest advice is to sit for a couple of minutes and let it clear rather than joining the queue in the corridor.

Access seats

Row P of Districts 4 and 5 carries wheelchair positions, and row P of 4, 5, 8 and 9 is step-free. Those seats are held back and cannot be bought online. Access has the full picture.

Main Districts FAQs

Which is the best District at Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre?

Districts 4, 5, 8 and 9 are the four to aim at, and there is little to choose between them. Rows D and E, off the aisle, are the seats we would book. Districts 4 and 5 have the premium seats at the front.

Should I avoid the aisle seats here?

On a first visit, yes. The aisle and stair rails sit in the line of sight from the seat beside them and give a very slight restriction. Move one seat along and it goes away entirely, usually for the same price.

Where is the best value in Districts 4, 5, 8 and 9?

The back of District 5. It is about the cheapest seat in one of the main blocks.
