Circle at the Dominion Theatre
Now playing: The Devil Wears Prada From £30 Book tickets
The Circle has 752 seats in sixteen rows, lettered A to Q, with no row I.
Getting in: halfway up, and no lift
The thing that changes how this level works is where the doors are. It is around 32 steps from the theatre entrance to the Circle doors, 19 up to Circle level and then another 12 or 13 along, and those doors put you between rows G and H, roughly halfway up the level. So the front of the Circle is 21 steps back down from where you walk in, and the back is around 30 more up to row Q.
There is no lift to the Circle. If stairs are difficult, book the Stalls, which have a platform lift, and the access page covers the whole way in.
Where we'd put you
Rows B to E, if you would rather look down on a show than across at it. The Circle here is set high, and from its front rows you see the whole stage laid out below you.
We would still send you to the Stalls first. In a theatre this large you feel more connected to the show downstairs, and rows G to P in the centre of the Stalls beat anything up here.
The back of the Circle is the part we would think twice about. Row Q is sixteen rows back on a level that already starts high, so it feels a long, long way from the stage, and if the choice is the back here or the back of the Stalls, we would always take the Stalls.
If you are bringing a small child, book a few rows back from the front. Booster seats are not handed out in Circle row A, for safety reasons, so rows B to E are the better place for them on this level.
Drinks and toilets
The Champagne Bar and two Circle foyer bars are on this level, at the top of the first 19 stairs, and so is the cloakroom (£2 an item). There's an accessible toilet at the back of the Circle, though it can't be reached by wheelchair during a performance.
Circle FAQs
Is it called the Circle or the Dress Circle?
The Circle. The Dominion calls it the Circle on its seating plan, so that's the word to look for. If you've seen it called the Dress Circle, it's the same thing, just with a different name.
How many steps are there up to the Circle?
Around 32, which gets you to the doors between rows G and H. Your row then adds or subtracts from that: 21 steps down to the front row, or about three a row upwards towards the back. There is no lift.
Is the Circle better than the Stalls at the Dominion Theatre?
The Stalls, on balance. The centre of the Stalls is the best place in the building, and even at the back we would take the Stalls over the Circle. The front rows of the Circle are the exception and a good place to sit.
