By tube

Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines) is the closest, about 3 minutes' walk down Haymarket. Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo lines) is 6 to 8 minutes via Trafalgar Square, and Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly lines) 7 to 9 minutes.

By train

From the mainline station at Charing Cross, allow 6 to 8 minutes on foot, via Trafalgar Square.

From Victoria, take the Victoria line to Green Park and change to the Piccadilly line for one stop to Piccadilly Circus.

By bus

Haymarket is one way, heading south towards Trafalgar Square, so the stops on it only work for getting here.

  • Haymarket / Charles II Street, a couple of minutes from the door: the 12, 88, 159 and 453
  • Haymarket / Jermyn Street, a little further up the hill: the 9, 23 and 139

Going home north or west, you catch the same buses, plus the 94, from Regent Street / St James's, about three minutes' walk. The 15 and 19 stop a little further away, on the Strand and at Piccadilly Circus.

Late at night, the N3, N9, N15, N18, N97, N109, N113, N118 and N136 use these stops.

By taxi or car

A taxi can drop you directly outside the theatre on Haymarket, and after the show there's a taxi rank on Lower Regent Street, a couple of minutes away.

There's no parking at the theatre. Use Q-Park Leicester Square on Whitcomb Street, a few minutes away, and book ahead on a show night.

  • Congestion Charge: £18 a day. It runs 7am to 6pm on weekdays and midday to 6pm at weekends, so a matinee means paying it, and arriving after 6pm for an evening show means you don't.
  • ULEZ: all day, every day, if your car doesn't meet the standard.

Blue Badge holders can use the bays on Suffolk Street and Charles II Street, beside the theatre.

What time to arrive

Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later. The doors open 45 minutes before the show, or 30 for children's shows, and the bars open 30 minutes before. If you'd like a proper look round the building, come a little earlier: the interior is one of the most beautiful in London.

If you're late, you won't be let straight in. The theatre lets latecomers in at a suitable break in the performance, and says it can't always guarantee they'll get in.
