Access at the Adelphi Theatre
Access seats at the Adelphi are booked directly with the venue, not through us. The venue's own team can confirm spaces and seats before you commit, and they hold the live position on everything below.
Getting in
A ramp on the right-hand side of the main entrance gives step-free access through an automatic door. The Box Office is on the right as you come in, with a lower counter.
Getting to your seat
The Stalls have level access from the foyer. They are the only level that does.
There is no lift. The Dress Circle is 41 steps up from the ground floor and the Upper Circle is 71, both with handrails on either side.
Three wheelchair spaces sit at the ends of rows L, M and O in the Stalls, on the high-numbers side. That puts them in the middle of the section rather than the back of it, which changed when the theatre reopened in July 2026: the two spaces before that were in the very back row.
Two dedicated transfer positions sit either side of row J, and any aisle seat in the Stalls can be used to transfer. Wheelchairs of all sizes and weights can be accommodated.
Getting here step-free
None of the three nearest Underground stations is step-free. The nearest step-free tube is Westminster, about a kilometre away: leave along Whitehall, turn right onto the Strand at Trafalgar Square, and the theatre is on the left.
Charing Cross mainline, however, is step-free and is four minutes away, which makes arriving by train a far better option than arriving by tube.
Blue Badge bays are on John Adam Street at about 90 metres, Henrietta Street at about 125 and William IV Street at about 160, and they are limited in number.
In the building
One accessible toilet at ground level, off the main foyer and close to the entrance to the Stalls. It is not locked.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the auditorium, and staff will look after your dog during the performance if you would rather.
An infra-red system is available for hearing-impaired customers, with headsets and hearing aid loops from the cloakroom in the main foyer. The theatre also runs the GalaPro app for automated captions and audio description. Access hosts meet customers on arrival and are trained to assist in an evacuation.
