About the Piccadilly Theatre

Now playing: Moulin Rouge! The Musical From £30 Book tickets

The Piccadilly Theatre opened on 27 April 1928, just behind Piccadilly Circus, and it was one of the largest theatres built in London at the time. It was designed by Bertie Crewe and Edward A. Stone, with an Art Deco interior by Marc-Henri Levy and Gaston Laverdet. It's Grade II listed and run today by ATG Entertainment.

It had to be partly rebuilt after bomb damage in the Second World War, and a recent refurbishment brought back the main dome, which had been covered up for many years. It has hosted plays, musicals, ballet and concerts across the decades, and it has been adapted for its current show, with the auditorium dressed and reshaped for an immersive staging. The Can Can tables in front of the stage belong to Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
