Boxes at St Martin's Theatre

There are four Boxes here, and all four are at Dress Circle level. Two sit at the sides of the stage and two at the back of the Dress Circle, and the ones at the sides are the ones we'd talk you out of.

Boxes A and B

One each side of the stage, two seats each, on movable chairs. You're close to the stage, but side-on, and you lose about a quarter of the stage on the side nearest you. The Mousetrap is played out in a single room, so there's no part of the stage you can afford to lose.

Box C

Head-on to the stage from the rear of the Dress Circle, so nothing is cut off, though you're a long way back. It's priced just below premium. One of the theatre's two wheelchair spaces is here, on a small raised platform that lifts the chair above the Box's front wall.

The Royal Box

Four seats, also at the back of the Dress Circle, and not on sale at every performance. The view is the same as Box C's: all of the stage, from a distance.

Better seats for the money

Instead of Boxes A and B, look at the sides of Stalls row G, which give you the legroom a Box promises with a far better view, or the centre of Dress Circle rows A to C, which sees the whole stage head-on.

When a Box does make sense

A Box gives you a private space and chairs you can move. The Royal Box suits an occasion for a group of four who'd rather sit together in private than have the closest view. For wheelchair users, Box C is one of the two places to sit, and the access page has more.

FAQs

Are the Boxes worth it at St Martin's Theatre?

For privacy, yes. For the view, no: Boxes A and B lose about a quarter of the stage, and Box C and the Royal Box are further from it than most of the Dress Circle.
