By tube

Victoria is on the Victoria, District and Circle lines, 1 to 2 minutes away. Follow the signs for Cardinal Place / Victoria Street, cross Victoria Street, and the theatre is in front of you.

By train

London Victoria is the same station: Southern, Southeastern and the Gatwick Express all come in here, so you can arrive from Brighton, Gatwick, Kent and most of South London without changing.

The Gatwick Express takes about 30 minutes and puts you across the road from the theatre, which makes a same-day flight in and out possible, and we've heard of people doing just that!

By coach

Victoria Coach Station is about 10 minutes on foot, up Buckingham Palace Road and left onto Victoria Street.

By bus

The nearest stops are right outside. Stop M, on Victoria Street by the theatre, and Stop N, across the road, take the 3, 11, 24, 26 and 148. The other routes stop around the station forecourt, on Vauxhall Bridge Road and on Buckingham Palace Road, all within about three minutes' walk.

  • From North London: the 24 (Hampstead, Camden Town and Trafalgar Square) stops right outside on Victoria Street. The 390 (Archway, King's Cross and Oxford Circus) and the 13 (Golders Green, St John's Wood and Park Lane) come in to the station.
  • From the City and East London: the 26 (Hackney, Shoreditch, St Paul's and the Aldwych) ends at Stop M, by the theatre door.
  • From Waterloo and Westminster: the 11 (from Waterloo) and the 148 (from Camberwell and Elephant and Castle) come along Victoria Street past Westminster.
  • From West London: the 148 (Shepherd's Bush, Notting Hill and Marble Arch), the 52 (Ladbroke Grove, Kensington and Knightsbridge), the C1 (White City, Earls Court and South Kensington), the 11 (Fulham, Chelsea and Sloane Square), the 36 (Queen's Park, Paddington and Park Lane) and the 6 (Willesden, Maida Vale and Park Lane).
  • From South London: the 3 (Crystal Palace, Brixton and Lambeth), the 2 (Norwood, Brixton and Vauxhall), the 185 (Lewisham, Camberwell and Vauxhall), the 36 (New Cross and Oval), the 170 (Clapham Junction and Battersea), the 44 (Tooting and Wandsworth) and the C10 (Canada Water, Borough and Lambeth).

Late at night, the N11, N26, N44 and N136 stop on Victoria Street, and the N2 and N32 at the station.

By car

There's no parking at the theatre. The nearest car parks:

  • Q-Park Victoria, Arneway Street, about 10 minutes' walk, open 24 hours
  • Apex Parking, Semley Place, by the coach station, 13 minutes' walk, open 24 hours
  • Q-Park Pimlico, Cumberland Street, about 15 minutes' walk, open 24 hours, with EV charging

Blue Badge holders have disabled bays nearby on Carlisle Place.

You're inside the Congestion Charge zone. It's £18 a day, running 7am to 6pm on weekdays and midday to 6pm at weekends and on bank holidays, so arrive after 6pm for an evening performance and you won't pay it, though a matinee falls inside it. ULEZ is a separate charge that runs at all hours, but at £12.50 it applies only to vehicles that don't meet the emissions standards, and most cars from around 2006 on petrol or 2015 on diesel are compliant and pay nothing.

Walking from elsewhere

About 25 to 30 minutes from Leicester Square, through St James's Park, which is a lovely walk in daylight and a slow one if you're late. Buckingham Palace is 7 to 8 minutes away, Westminster Abbey about 15, and Parliament and the river about 20.

What time to arrive

Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later. There are security and bag checks on the way in, and a full house arriving off a station concourse makes the last few minutes the busiest. The bars and foyers open 45 minutes to an hour before the show.

Latecomers are let in about 15 minutes into Hamilton, so a late arrival misses the first quarter of an hour.
