Grand Circle at the Victoria Palace Theatre
Now playing: Hamilton From £24 Book tickets
Rows A to J, the top level. It's high and very steep, and the view from the front is clear and complete, so it suits anyone who wants the whole stage for much less than the Stalls cost and doesn't mind the height. If heights genuinely bother you, book lower down.
The level holds 356 places, including ten standing places behind row J, and there's a centre aisle between seats 19 and 20 in every row.
Where we'd put you
Rows B and C, in the centre. They're the value pick on this level and the ones to ask for. If you're on the short side, ask for row D instead, which sits clear of the front rail. Either way, keep a seat or two away from the centre aisle, as the handrails at the aisle ends can sit in your view.
The Slips at each front corner of the circle are side-on, but the view isn't too bad.
What to avoid
- The back of the Grand Circle. It's significantly restricted. It's the cheapest seat in the theatre, and it's cheap for a reason, so we wouldn't take the back rows here to save the last few pounds.
- Row A. It has limited legroom and a safety bar in the eyeline, which is why it's classed as slightly restricted.
Legroom in the Grand Circle
Tighter than on the levels below, and worst at the back: H and J really only suit people up to about 5ft. Row G is the roomiest here, fine to about 5ft 7. Rows B to F suit people up to about 5ft 5, row A is limited, and the Slips are tight for everyone. An aisle seat lets you stretch one leg out.
Steps
About five flights of stairs from the foyer, and there's no lift. Leave a few extra minutes if stairs slow you down.
Drinks and toilets
The Grand Circle has its own bar and toilets, so you don't have to go back down all those stairs at the interval.
Boxes on this level
The Grand Circle's side Boxes are on the Boxes page.
Grand Circle FAQs
Is the Grand Circle worth it at the Victoria Palace Theatre?
At the front, yes: the centre of rows B and C gets the whole stage for much less than the levels below. We'd go down a level rather than take the back rows.
Is the Grand Circle too high?
It's steep, and it's about five flights up with no lift. The view down is clear, but if you don't like heights, the Royal Circle is the better choice.
