Royal Circle at Wyndham's Theatre
Opening soon: John Proctor Is the Villain Book tickets
The first level up, 18 steps from the foyer. This is where to sit if you want to see the whole stage at once with nothing in the way, and it's the level we'd pick for the view.
Where we'd put you
Front and centre. It's the cleanest sightline in the theatre: high enough to take in the whole stage and low enough to still feel part of it. The rows are well raked, so the heads in front aren't a problem, and the circle sits close to the stage.
What to avoid
- Row G, at full price. It's an odd row: just eight seats, set back in an alcove of its own behind the rest of the level, with an aisle and rails in front of it, where the rows in front seat 25 to 29. The Grand Circle hangs over the Royal Circle from row C, and row G is the only row where that costs you the top of the stage. The rail in front will get in the way for the shortest, and someone of average height in row F can block the front of the stage. Aim for the front of this level rather than the back.
- The very ends of the front rows, if you want the whole stage square on. The rows curve round towards the stage, so the end seats look at it slightly from the side.
There's no centre aisle on this level. Rows A to F run as one long block, so you get in and out from the ends.
Legroom
Row A is the tightest on the level. Rows B to E have more, and are the better bet if you're tall.
Steps
It's 18 steps up from the foyer, the same number as down to the Stalls, so there's nothing in it between the two on stairs alone. There's no lift to this level.
The Royal Circle Boxes
Boxes 1 to 4 are at this level, two each side of the stage, and they look at it from the side. The Boxes page has what they're like and what to book instead.
Drinks and toilets
The Royal Circle bar is on this level, though there's nowhere to sit in it. There are men's and women's toilets on this level too.
Royal Circle FAQs
Is the Royal Circle good at Wyndham's Theatre?
Yes, at the front. The centre of the front rows is the best view in the building, and only the back row, G, loses any of the stage to the level above.
Is the Royal Circle better than the Stalls?
For seeing the whole stage, yes. For being close to the actors, the central Stalls win. In a theatre this small you're not far from the stage in either.
