Restaurants, Bars and Hotels Near His Majesty's Theatre
Haymarket sits between Piccadilly Circus, St James's and Trafalgar Square, so you are spoilt for restaurants, pubs and hotels near His Majesty's Theatre. Everything below is within about ten minutes.
Restaurants
Brumus (1 minute). At Haymarket Hotel, 1 Suffolk Place. Firmdale's brasserie, directly opposite the theatre, open from breakfast through to midnight. The closest good dinner to the door.
Rowley's (4 minutes). 113 Jermyn Street. Steak and chips done properly, in the building where the Wall's meat business started, and they have been there fifty years. Built for pre-theatre.
Flat Iron Piccadilly (5 minutes). 21 Denman Street. One cut of steak at one low price, which is the whole idea, and it costs a fraction of a full steakhouse dinner. Open from midday and it takes bookings, so you can eat properly and still be in your seat.
Fallow (3 minutes). 2 St James's Market. Seasonal, low-waste British cooking, open from breakfast to 11pm, and a change from steak just round the corner.
Bars and pubs
Brumus Bar (1 minute). 1 Suffolk Place. Booths, banquettes and cocktails, opposite the theatre. Easiest possible pre-show drink.
Tom Cribb (2 minutes). 36 Panton Street, just off Haymarket. An old boxing pub named after the bare-knuckle champion, with his story on the walls, and it stays open late enough for a drink after the show.
St James Tavern (5 minutes). Near Piccadilly Circus. There are plenty of pubs around here, and this is the one we would pick if you want a pint rather than a cocktail.
Hotels
Haymarket Hotel (1 minute). 1 Suffolk Place. Firmdale, just over the road from the theatre's front doors.
The Z Hotel Piccadilly (5 minutes). 2 Orange Street. Compact (very compact!), well-run rooms at the lowest price you will find this close to the theatre.
The Dilly (6 minutes). 21 Piccadilly. A big West End classic.
The Trafalgar St James (8 minutes). 2 Spring Gardens. Five-star, on the corner of Trafalgar Square.
hub by Premier Inn London Covent Garden (8 minutes). 110 St Martin's Lane. The reliable budget option, opposite the London Coliseum. Rooms are small by design, so book it for the location and the price rather than the space.
