Noël Coward Theatre, London
The Noël Coward Theatre is on St Martin's Lane, a couple of minutes' walk from Leicester Square station. It has 947 seats, spread across four levels, and Into the Woods is playing until Saturday 9 January 2027.
Still choosing seats? For the best view, book the middle of Stalls rows C to J or the first four rows of the Royal Circle. For value, look at the back of the Royal Circle, rows G and H, which are usually priced below the rows in front and see over the heads ahead of you more easily than the rear Stalls at a similar price. If you're paying top price in the Stalls, be careful with row K: it isn't staggered behind row J, so if someone tall sits in front of you, they're right in your eyeline.
Already booked? Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later, because every bag is checked at the door. Balcony seats are at least 54 steps up, so allow a little longer. The theatre is cashless, and the cloakroom won't take a suitcase.
Each level has its own page: the Stalls, the Royal Circle, the Grand Circle and the Balcony, with all four compared on the seating plan, and a page on whether the Boxes are worth it. After those come how to get here, access, bars and facilities, restaurants, bars and hotels nearby and more about the theatre.

What's On at the Noël Coward Theatre
Into the Woods runs until Saturday 9 January 2027, a limited run. It's Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical, in Jordan Fein's production from the Bridge Theatre, which won the 2026 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. A baker and his wife go into the woods to lift a witch's curse and meet Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Ridinghood and Rapunzel on the way. Everyone gets their wish in the first half, and the second half shows what happens next.
It usually plays Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm, with matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2:30pm. It runs 2 hours 40 minutes including an interval, and it's recommended for ages 12 and over.
Coming next:
- August: Osage County, 18 January to 10 April 2027, with Lesley Manville and Anna Maxwell Martin. It runs about 3 hours including an interval, it's recommended for ages 13 and over, and evening performances start at 6:30pm
- Amadeus, 17 April to 7 August 2027, with Michael Sheen as Salieri and Callum Scott Howells as Mozart

Ticket prices
Prices here are set by each production and change from one show to the next, so the current bands are on the Into the Woods page. The back of the Royal Circle and its small side blocks are usually priced below the rows in front, and the Balcony and the slip seats along the side walls are the cheapest seats in the theatre.

Noël Coward Theatre FAQs
How many seats does the Noël Coward Theatre have?
947, over four levels: 459 in the Stalls, 199 in the Royal Circle, 157 in the Grand Circle and 132 in the Balcony, with the Boxes counted in the level they sit on.
Is there a dress code?
No, so wear whatever you're comfortable in. Jeans and trainers are fine.
Can I take food or drink in?
Not from outside: food and drink bought elsewhere isn't allowed in, and neither is alcohol you've brought yourself. The three bars sell drinks and snacks only, nothing hot, so have something to eat first.
Can I pay with cash?
No. The theatre is cashless, so bring a card or phone for the bars.
Can I bring children?
Yes, from age 3: under-3s aren't admitted, everyone needs their own ticket whatever their age, and under-16s must sit next to someone aged 18 or over. Each show sets its own age guidance, and Into the Woods is recommended for 12 and over.
What is the bag policy, and is there a cloakroom?
Every bag is checked on the way in. The cloakroom will take a coat or a small bag for a small fee, but not a suitcase or anything large, so if you're coming straight from a train, drop the case first.
Is the Noël Coward Theatre air conditioned?
Yes, the auditorium is air conditioned.
When is the Box Office open?
From 2 hours 30 minutes before each performance until 15 minutes after curtain up, and on matinee days it stays open between the two shows. You don't need to queue there: book with us online or by phone.
Can I book by phone?
Yes. Call us on 020 7193 9050 and we'll tell you what's actually free on your date and which seats are the better buy for your budget. The price we tell you on the phone is the price you pay.
Can I change or cancel my tickets?
Theatre tickets are generally non-refundable, and what you can change depends on who you bought from. If you booked with us, call 020 7193 9050 and we'll tell you what your booking allows. If you booked somewhere else, get in touch with whoever you bought your tickets from.
