Circle at the Ambassadors Theatre
Rows A to M, the upper of the two levels. It's a single block with no centre aisle, and nothing overhangs it, so every seat sees the top of the stage. It suits anyone after a lower price, or who likes looking down on the whole stage, but it sits quite high for a small theatre and the legroom is tight, so if the Stalls price works for your date, we'd still take the Stalls.
Where we'd put you
Rows A to E, in the middle. Those five rows give you a clear view of the whole stage, and you're still close enough to feel part of it.
Behind row E the Circle starts to feel a little cut off, raised up and set apart from the rest of the theatre. This is such a small venue, though, that the back rows are still decent seats if the price is right.
What to avoid
- Row H, if getting in and out matters. There's a short wall in front of it, the seats don't fold up, and you can only reach the row from one end, so from the middle of it you'll be squeezing past a lot of people.
- The four seats at the ends of row A. They sit in pairs at the edges of the Circle and look at the stage sideways, so they're only worth it at a good discount.
Legroom
Tight. Most seats won't suit anyone over about 5ft 7, and there's no room to stretch forward. If you're tall and set on the Circle, book one of the two end seats of row B, where the row in front stops short and leaves you clear floor, or one of the first three seats of the back row, which have the most room up here.
Getting there, bars and toilets
It's a short climb from the foyer. Row F is just five steps from the entrance, the easiest of the Circle rows to reach, and there's no lift up here.
The Circle bar is on this level. Like the Stalls Bar it's small, so order before the show or have drinks brought to your seat. The Circle has its own Ladies and Gents.
FAQs
Is the Circle good at the Ambassadors Theatre?
Yes, especially the front five rows. The view is clear from every seat, and the catch is the legroom, which is tight for anyone tall.
Which Circle seats have the most legroom?
B1 and B22 have clear floor in front, and M1 to M3 are the roomiest in the back row. Everywhere else is tight for anyone tall.
