Restaurants, Bars and Hotels Near the Ambassadors Theatre
The Ambassadors sits where Seven Dials meets theatreland, so you're two minutes from more restaurants, pubs and bars than you could work through in a year. These are our picks. Opening times change, so check before you set out.
Restaurants
Seven Dials Market (4 minutes). Earlham Street. The easy answer before a show: a covered food hall with more than 20 traders, including Bleecker Burger, so a group who can't agree can all eat well and fast, no booking needed.
Flesh & Buns (2 minutes). Earlham Street. A lively Japanese izakaya in a basement, great fun and worth booking for the bao buns alone.
Bancone (5 minutes). William IV Street. Some of the best fresh pasta in London at a fair price. Book an early table and the timing works perfectly for a 7:30pm start.
The Ivy (1 minute). West Street, directly across the road. The original one, for when the night calls for a proper occasion. Book well ahead and you can walk from your table to your seat in two minutes. It has a reputation for being expensive, but the menu is actually very reasonable and there's always a famous face or two in there.
Bars and pubs
The Two Brewers (1 minute). Monmouth Street. The closest proper pub, a small 1690s local freshly refurbished in 2025. It fills fast before curtain, so go early or squeeze in after.
The Alligator Bar (1 minute). West Street. A cocktail bar on the third floor of House of Louie, a few doors along, with live music and DJs later in the week.
The Cross Keys (5 minutes). Endell Street. The roomier option, a flower-covered Victorian pub with a listed interior. An easy place to enjoy a good pint.
Hotels
Radisson Blu Hotel, London Mercer Street (4 minutes). Seven Dials. The reliable smart choice if you want to walk out of the show and be in bed in five.
hub by Premier Inn London Covent Garden (3 minutes). St Martin's Lane. Compact, modern rooms at a sensible price, and even closer to the tube.
The Fielding Hotel (7 minutes). Broad Court. A 19th-century building on a quiet pedestrian-only lane by the Royal Opera House, where the West End noise switches off at night.
