Prince of Wales Theatre, London
The Prince of Wales Theatre is on Coventry Street, a minute or two from Piccadilly Circus, and The Book of Mormon plays here. It has 1,135 seats. Below you'll find where to sit on each level, what tickets cost, how to get here, and where to eat and stay nearby.
Choosing seats? The pick is the centre of the Stalls, from the front to about halfway back. There are only two levels here, Stalls and Circle, and the reason there's no Upper Circle is that the theatre is unusually wide. The Circle is a good level, though it sits back from the stage and climbs steeply, and the back of it feels like an Upper Circle view elsewhere. The seats we'd talk you out of are Loges 2 and 4, high up at the side of the stage.
Already booked? Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later, because there are bag checks on the way in. If your seats are in the Circle, it's 70 steps up from the foyer and there's no lift.
Below: the seating plan and a page for each level, the Stalls and the Circle, what the Loges are like, how to get here, access and facilities, restaurants, bars and hotels nearby, and more about the building.

The Book of Mormon is booking here until 23 January 2027, and that date moves on each time the run is extended. It has played here since 2013.
The Book of Mormon runs 2 hours 20 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. Curtain up is 7:30pm every night except Sunday, and on Fridays and Saturdays there's a 2:30pm matinee too. It's recommended for ages 14 and over, for explicit language, and it has strobe lighting, flashing lights and gunshots.
Over Christmas 2026 the week changes: extra 2:30pm matinees on 22, 23, 29 and 30 December, two shows on Sunday 27 December, only the evening show on Boxing Day, a single 2pm show on New Year's Eve, and no performances on 24 and 25 December or 1 January.
The Book of Mormon ticket prices
Tickets here start from around £25 and run up to about £100 for the top standard seats. Premium seats begin at around £125 and go up from there.
Weekends and peak weeks are slightly more, but it's a decent sized and very well priced venue.

FAQs
How many seats does the Prince of Wales Theatre have?
1,135. There are 666 in the Stalls, 453 in the Circle and 16 across the four Loges.
Is the Prince of Wales Theatre in the West End?
Yes. Coventry Street joins Piccadilly Circus to Leicester Square, and the theatre is on it, with Chinatown a couple of streets to the north.
Is there a dress code?
No. Wear what you like. Jeans and trainers are entirely normal, and nobody will look twice. This advice is especially true for a show like The Book of Mormon.
Can I bring food and drink in?
You can't bring in food or drink bought elsewhere. Both bars sell drinks and snacks, though no hot food. There's no glass in the auditorium, so a drink bought at the bar goes into plastic on the way in. Often you'll be allowed to bring in a sealed bottle of water, but officially the theatre can deny it.
Can I take a bag in?
Yes, but staff check bags on the way in, and alcohol, glass, knives, safety sprays and chemicals won't be let through. The cloakroom takes coats and small bags for a small charge, first come, first served. Larger bags and suitcases can't go in it, and bikes can't be left inside at all. Pushchairs are rarely an issue, since children young enough to need one aren't admitted.
Can I pay with cash?
No. The theatre is cashless, so bring a card or phone for the bars.
Can I bring children?
From age 3, though The Book of Mormon is recommended for 14 and over because of its explicit language. A child of any age needs a ticket of their own, and anyone under 16 must sit beside an adult aged 18 or over.
Is the theatre air conditioned?
Yes, and it works well enough that people mention feeling cold. Worth a layer.
What time does The Book of Mormon finish?
An evening performance starts at 7:30pm and finishes around 9:50pm. A Friday or Saturday matinee starts at 2:30pm and finishes around 4:50pm.
What time does the Box Office open?
It opens 2 hours 30 minutes before each performance and shuts 15 minutes after the curtain goes up. On Fridays and Saturdays, with a matinee and an evening show, it stays open between the two. You don't need to go there to buy: book with us online or call 020 7193 9050.
Can I book by phone?
Yes. Call us on 020 7193 9050 and a real person will help you pick your seats. The price we tell you on the phone is the price you pay.
